Students are now equipped to conjugate present tense verbs and regular verbs in the past tense when writing sentences. Reading : Students should read at least 3-4 times a week in French for about 10 min. They can use their "sons" duotangs or their library book. Sciences Humaines : We are talking about stereotypes in the media.

They have to include where, when and why to their sentences. They have sheets with examples of this in their cahier de grammaire. They need to write correctly the form of the verbs (present tense and some past tense); capital letters to begin sentences and punctuation at the end; spelling of the "mots fréquents" . Grammaire : We are working on "Le passé composé" . Also, we will be seeing "le féminin et le masculine" of nouns and adjectives this week and next week. Reading : Students should read in French on a regular basis. Some students still don't know some of the sounds that have been seen in class or are struggling with some. They should practice in their "cahier de sons" or read their library books. Sciences Humaines : We are currently talking about "Les stéréotypes". FILA : Le son "ill" . Sentences due Wednesday and test will be on Tuesday, Feb. 20th. (Monday is a Holiday - Family Day).

This is important as students need to know the different sounds to be able to read with precision and fluency. Reading in French should also be done on a regular basis at home. Students do have library books in French. Compréhension de lecture : we are still working on the different types of questions (repérage; inférence and réaction) Writing : Students are continuing to practice to add who; what; when ; where and why in most sentences.
